Dirty Pot

My guitar has a noisy Pup selector and volume pot, does anyone have experience with Caig D5, before I buy it?

I use WD-40 Contact Cleaner

It cannot get rid of a crack at one spot on the volume pot of a Suhr Modern, though. Maybe it is internally damaged.

Caig is the only brand to buy. I have used it for years.

Winner! As I've said, I could not get rid of the noise at the Suhr pot using WD-40 Contact Cleaner, so I did buy a new potentiometer.

I felt lazy to replace it, because all these ground terminals and the bleed RC are so nicely soldered... so I decided to give a try to the Caig D5, and voila! smooth as new! No need to preplace it.

p.s.: maybe another pass with WD-40 would had also fixed it, but now I'll never know :D

WD-40 isn't an electrical contact cleaner, it's a mechanical lubricant, not a good idea for electrical situations. Caig is what you want.

The one I've used is a Contact Cleaner. WD-40 is a brand with a range of products for different applications
