DigiTech Control2 Foot Controller

i doubt it compatible at all. MIDI protocol is standard, but anything can be programmed on a CAT5 cable.
 
Do not use the CAT 5 cable on that into the Axe-fx. You have a good chance of frying both the Control2 and the Axe-fx's Expansion port.

The control2 is specifically for the gsp1101 (or other digitech product that specifically state they can use the control2).

As it states in the control2's owners manual:

"WARNING: Only connect the Control 2 Remote Foot Controller to
the GSP1101 or other DigiTech products which specify a connection to
the Control 2. Do not connect the Control 2 Remote Foot Controller
to Ethernet connections as damage will occur."
 
The only way you could use the Control2 is if you connect it to a GSP1101 and then connect the GSP MIDI out into the Axe. When I had a GSP as a backup unit in the same rack with the Axe I tried this and it worked fine. It's a shame you can't use the Control2 directly since it's a nice controller.
