Difference between V7, V8 & V9

When going to Global on the front panel and switching between MODELING VERSION 9.XX, 8.XX & 7.XX what is actually changing?

Thanks for the reply, I love the cleanish Fendery tones on V9 but like the higher gain sounds of V7 better.

I guess what I'm asking is what do I need to change in V9 to make it sound like V7 for higher gain sounds, other than going to the global on the front panel.
