Essentially I use a similar 'formula' to do a mix and it's pretty classic at this point. 50/50 mix of a given speaker with a SM-57 and R121. You can do it in the Axe_FX II by using a stereo cab and panning them both center; or you can use any of the various methods of mixing given IR's into one mono High Resolution IR.
I pick the mic positions like you do in a studio; starting at 0" on the Cap for the R121 (often end up using 2" Cap) and then 0" Cap Edge (trying Cap Edge Off-Axis too) for the SM57.
Details on what I am doing will be forthcoming; but I'll be sharing the presets too. Working on it.
Edit: I use the Axe-O-Matic DSP to do my mixes FWIW (had some PM's asking me what I am using).
