I did some googling but couldn't seem to find a direct answer to my question: If I want to (in essence) down convert from a +4dBu output to a device input expecting -10dBV, can I reduce the output device by 12dB to "match" the signal to avoid clipping? For background/specifics: I tried running the AUX send from the mixer to my audio interface and the interface clips, even at the lowest input gain. I assumed if I just lowered the output level it should solve the problem.
