Connecting an MP3 player to AxeFx

It shouldn't be any problem to connect an MP3 player to the loop return input, so I hear music through the while I'm playing? Not damaging the input itself?
Setting FXL block second in the chain and directly to output and the guitar chain under it.
Very much like its done when connecting to both poweramp/cab and FRFR.
