Connecting 2 midi controllers to one axe fx3

Hello, is it possible to connect more than one midi controller (pedalboard) to the axe fx3? I already have one connected via MIDI IN and the USB is being used by the computer.....how could I connect a second midi controller to the axe fx 3? I suspect I need a MIDI merge device but I'm not sure...
