Confirmation on just how the waiting list is going to work ?

So if the coupons expire, then what happens if I get my coupon and it expires before I can conquer the yahoo store (with the current bot infestation and people with a bigger chequebook than I)? When I got my MFC wait list coupon, it was just a coupon...no link to buy, etc. So, if the II is the same way and there still is high demand, would I essentially lose my coupon and now have to pay $400 extra or sign up for the list to try again? Just wondering...

+1 Would really like to know.

If their is an expiration, then it would have to have a dedicated buy link. If it has no expiration, then it wouldn't have to have a dedicated buy link. Did the MFC coupons have expiration dates? I think some folks are getting a little too nervous before anything is even started. let the first couple folks get their coupon codes, tell us how it worked, and then get worked up.

Do the coupons expire? I mean even if it's my turn with the coupon the Yahoo store still sells out in like 20sec so am I SOL if the store is empty for the time period the coupon is good?
This shouldn't happen since the coupons don't go out until units placed into inventory do not sell out. If it does happen, just get in touch with FAS and they'll take care of you.

I wish an announcement would be made as to how the waiting list is going to be serviced so as to put an end to any speculation about it. I realize he's busy, but a small announcement would only take a few moments and could clear up any confusion. I don't have a problem waiting my turn, but I would like to know if we're going to be relegated to the back of the line or if the list will be taken care of along with the non-list sales.

Not complaining about anything, just a simple request for clarification so the people on the list know where they stand and what to expect.

It would be nice. But I think we've figured it out. After all of the IIs in the store stop selling out then the waiting list will be serviced. On the upside, I personally am glad for the list. I know I won't pay $2600 for one, so now I can stop visiting the yahoo store until I can buy one with the discount coupon.

i hope it dosen't work that way. if it does I have a feeling it will be a very very long wait.

There was no dedicated buy link for the MFC, or way back when I bought my Ultra. Just a coupon code in the email. No mention of expiry in the email. Doesn't mean that it won't expire eventually, I guess. Also it doesn't mean it won't be different this time.

For some historical reference FWIW..

Cliff had pre-announced early plans for the MFC and opened a wait list 3 years prior to it's availability. Now THAT was a long wait! When they finally arrived, non-list people immediately snapped them up, much to the dismay of guys who had been on the wait list for 2+ years. I, like many, couldn't wait any more and shelled out an extra 100 bucks to buy early. I bought one in Oct 2010 at full price. I was near the top of the wait list (from what I could tell) and I got my MFC coupon email in March 2011 - 6 months later.

O.K., well two days in a row Ax-II's are selling to line jumpers at the higher price and ( AFAIK ) no one has received their 'coupon' for purchasing at the original price ....

6/20 - Unit(s) on the site at 3:11pm EDT. Sold out in 10 seconds or less. Second batch at 3:22 EDT. Sold out in about 30 seconds.

6/21 - Batch at 1:32PM, sold out in about 20 seconds. No news of wait list folks getting coupons yet

I guess we now know how this B*** S***, oh I'm sorry, I mean 'waiting list' is going to work ....

So much for Chillax ..., eh ?

You signed up for the 'waiting list' not for the 'getting list' ;)
You just get what you singed up for.

j/k

Yeah .., I suppose I did. But I also had hopes of being an early adopter too .... How's that working for me now ?

The funny ( or not so funny thing is ) ..., based on all of the early comments from Fractal I thought that would most likely be possible. But with a "flying by the seat of your pants" business model being utilized, it makes it kinda hard ! Unless you want to pay a last minute - hastly and ill concieved decision to put a premium on them instead ....

Unfortunately I had approx. $ 700 saved for a 2nd Ultra, so I sold my Ultra for $ 1,500 under the mistaken impression that ( $ 700 + $ 1,500 would = an Ax-II ) ....

And "eventually" it still will ..., but based on my experience on the MFC-101 waiting list it won't be for months. Truthfully this is leaving such a bad taste in my mouth I wonder if I even care anymore ....

I've done business with a lot of boutique builders and I've never seen one do business this way ....

Some will do an internet presale, most do waiting lists ( that are satisfied first ). That method usually rewards your most loyal customers who truly want to be early adopters and help to carry the company's water by word of mouth on Forums like this one ....

And I'm not saying Fractal's doing this on purpose, but this strategy definitely works against some of the longer term supporters.

Bottom line for me is, Fractal is an EPIC GENIUS for the products that have been developed, but they're an equally EPIC FAIL for their business model .... As much though as went into the product, and equally massive LACK of though went into the planning and execution of product roll-outs !

I'm just sayin'
