compression questions

Which compressor would be the most "neutral" in the 1:1.5 to 1:2 range?
How do I adjust the compressor attack so my guitar note attack comes through without much change?
How about the attack on the Input block gate?
(I know about mixing in some dry thru compressor, but want to start with the right settings then blend it).

I would go Studio FF. Though the most neutral is to set it as parallel (less than 100% on mix) and then pretty much any compressor works great for this. You will get dynamics in parallel with sustain, which you can then crank up because dynamics are in parallel.
