clipping

I have an ultra but i'm sure this applies for all... i just made a patch that shouldn't use too much cpu. built it from another patch on the ultra and all i really did is make it really heavy distortion turned the drive and the air frequencies all the way up.. when i chug some heavy chords though i notice that the red clip light will sometimes blink but i don't notice or hear any actual clipping ... what does this mean? is there something i should do to make it go away? thanks! -mg
 
Is the clipping light for input 2? I noticed that on my ultra every now and then even if I am not playing. I do not use input 2 but still get a glimpse of the clip light. I would not worry about it if the sound if OK.

That is the red input LED. The "clip" LED comes on, according to Cliff, at about 1dB below the clip point.

Whether you hear clipping or not, when you see the "clip" LED come on, you really should reduce the level in your preset.
