Cab-Lab 4 Version 1.00.04 - Now includes Smoothing and native Pro Tools AAX

I recently purchased the 2x12 Class A 30W Dyna Cab pack to get my feet wet and have been having a blast making some great IR’s. Really like the smoothing feature along with all the other abilities. The silver bell speakers with the extra mic choices are really nice for that chime to dirty, but cleans up easy tone. Actually you can achieve all sorts of stuff with different amp models. I have been using the Matchbox D-30 model for starters, but looking forward to using others.

Thanks!

Just updated and now I can’t load Cablab even with FM3 edit paused. I have closed FM3 edit and loaded cablab no problem and then FM3 edit won’t load it times out even with Cablab 4 communication paused. This is only since I downloaded the update. Help!

I don’t run Cablab often but every time I’ve had to close FM3 edit. Pausing comms doesn’t work for me since the CL4 release.

Now I know it’s not just on my end. I used to be able to pause comm and go back and forth but not after update. I guess I will contact support?

I've found a better work flow using the Cab Lab 4 plugin (PT in my case), in which case you can also run the editor.
I can just close Cab-Lab 4 and open the editor and vice versa but it saves time to have it the way it was. I would use the plugin if I was recording in my daw, which is very cool… I hope Fractal can get pause comms working again for this.

All you need to do is create a session in your DAW, set one channel to input monitoring, plug into your DAW's audio interface, or use Fractal's USB audio (haven't tested that...), and finally bypass your cab block, done. Save it and then reopen when wanting to use Cab Lab 4 again, quick and painless.

I have usb drop issues and it’s possibly a Windows thing. It always did that since new, then went through a 3-4 month period with no issues and then came back. Thats why I don’t run CL4 often. I use SW live and have the FM3 running a loop at the input because the lag is nuts. It drops, I make any adjust to the buffer size and it comes back for a little while. And sometimes it just works. A usb repair is about $500 so I live with it. So when I found out I had to close the editor to run CL4 I just figured it was normal and possibly related to the drop issue. Could be the unit as well since it followed when I switched laptops.
