I have Windows 7 Ultimate (x64). Axe-Edit 3.1.6 notified me of the 3.1.7 update but it automatically downloaded the Windows 8 version of 3.1.7 instead of the Windows 7 version.

Win7/64 here too and just updated 5mins ago. worked fine but I rechecked my download folder and turns out the both 3.1.7 and 3.1.6 downloaded was also Win8... (at least according to the file name) but worked fine. ?!!?! very strange
Axe edit running now and working as well

I happened to have the folder open where it downloaded so I saw it was the wrong version before it was installed. I thought maybe they combined the Windows installers into one executable but I noticed both versions were updated on the website so I downloaded the Windows7 version and installed that just to be safe.

When we started, Windows 8 was the new OS and was specifically targeted, hence the Win8 filename tag. Now the Win8 file is built for Vista, Win7, and Win8. This is a recent change and hasn't been reflected on the website.
