Been trying to get this effect going on the Axe but I can't get it to sound decent. Any help?

It's just a single delay, as made famous by Eddie Van Halen on cathedral and later Nuno Bettencourt on Flight of the wounded bumblebee.

It has got about 5 echos in that example. Try about 35-40% on the feedback. You can hear exactly what they delay does when hit hits the strings then palm mutes. The rest is all about how he is playing. It sounds like the mix is a little under 50%. Plus, as you know you have to play to the tempo for it to work.
