I think this a great demo, but...
I've tried this myself using a 65 Bassman, out from AX8 via FX send, but instead of back to AX8 for IR processing, out to UAD OX amp top box. I find the real thing much more satisfying. Also, when I plug guitar straight into amp instead of the AX8, imo the amp responds better to picking dynamics, cleans up better with volume control, and just sounds better.
Both the OX and AX8 are being routed through a UAD Apollo Twin to a neutral Hi Fi tube amp (Balanced Audio Technology) and Audio Physic Virgo Speakers.
Another cool thing about the OX is the very fine attenuator, enabling one to blend the dry amp into a real cab with the OX processed tone. Prior to the OX, I was using the Suhr load box and not getting nearly as good a result.

My tube guitar amps have been sitting idle for years while I used AX FX II and now AX8. However, the OX has me enjoying them again, looking forward to Cliff coming out with "Fractal OX".
