Backing up with MIDI-OX

Sorry for the NOOB question, but I haven't used this utility for backups and I'm not quite sure how to set it. I've searched the forum, but couldn't find detailed instructions.

Do I set for Send/Receive SysEx or Receive Manual Dump? I've tried both and I get a window full of hex codes in the scratch pad. Do I just do a Save As on that display window? There doesn't seem to be enough data in that window to warrant it being a backup of an entire bank. If someone could point me to detail instructions of how to do this process, I'd very much appreciate it. The WIKI states that this is beyond the scope of that document.

Why not use AxeEdit to do your backups... ????
The new 1.9 version is simple and works fine..

Saturate, thanks for the link. s0c9, I thought I read in the release notes that backups in the new AE were unreliable.
