AxeFX II & Ultra - Dual Use

Hello fellow Fractalians.
As I wait for my new power amp to arrive, I have decided to make my Ultra/old power amp my live backup for my AxeFX II Mk1. I have never had either unit fail, but it's good to be prepared. Should I need the backup, would using the MFC be as easy as changing Axe-FX mode from II to Ultra? Any tips or gotchas? Your input is appreciated.

As long as your Axe-Fx's have the same firmware rev you should be okay. Also, make sure you have the appropriate cabling (FASLINK vs. MIDI vs. Ethercon) then just change the mode.

The Ultra and AxeFX II will not have the same firmware. Well, the PA just got dropped off; I'll give it a try and report back if there are any surprises. Thank you for your reply!

The IA switches will control distinct effects in either if the fw versions are too far apart.
