Axe fx latency?!

Hi,

I'm using a fishman triple play pickup --> usb which needs a audio card to function properly. I'm using fishman software with a kontakt 5 instrument.
I can't get the latency of the axe fx lower then 512 without hearing artifacts/crackles.
512 latency is not suitable for playing live.

Is it correct to assume the axe fx is not able to be used in this fashion? Or am I doing something wrong?

(With my RME fireface soundcard I have no issues, so I'm guessing it has to do with the axe fx)

Thx in advance!

If you are using a combo audio interface, axe fx + pc, remember to digitally sync the two with a spdif or aes cable and making the sound card slave to the axe fx. I think with fw 18 the axe can be slave too.

Also keep in mind the sample rate is a fixed 48 kHz.

The idea is that live I just want to use a laptop and the axe fx as soundcard.
(the on board soundcard of the laptop sucks)

I do NOT want to bring my Fireface to the gig if the axe fx has a perfectly working soundcard :)
So I'm trying to figure out if the axe fx is up for the job.

Using Cab-Lab as a test platform, I can get the audio latency on my Axe-Fx II down to less than 3 ms.
It must be your computer? Can you post the details?

If your laptop is Windows machine check the driver settings. The default is "Safe" which requires much larger buffer size.
