It doesn't sound like a Marshall to me. It's got that hyper-compressed German thing going. With all that low-frequency grunge.

People always think the Herbert is supertight but it got something going on in the lows that is not as tight as other brands, not a bad thing though.
Also, I had my old Herbert opened up by Peter Diezel (super nice dude) a lil bit in the 3rd channel, ... Love that amp!

The reason Diezels compress so much is due to the cathode follower design. You can reduce the compression in the models by lowering the Compression parameter in the Cathode Follower section.
