Comparing the Release notes of 31.04 beta #2 and 32, the bold are the things "added" to 31.04.

32.00

Improved power tube grid modeling in Amp block.

Improved frequency response accuracy for amp models.

Improved diffusion in Delay block. The dry signal is now diffused along with the delayed signal. This makes the effect more musical.

Increased pitch tracking range in Pitch block to ~2500 Hz. This allows tracking pinch harmonics better.

Improved pitch shifting for low frequencies, e.g. bass guitars.

Grouped types in Reverb block to aid in selection.

Increased range of Attack Time in Input block. Attack Time can now be set to a minimum of 0.1 ms. Existing presets are automatically updated.

Increased range of Attack Time in Gate block. Attack Time can now be set to a minimum of 0.1 ms. Existing presets are automatically updated.

Added Swedish Metal model to Drive block based on a Boss HM-2.

Added 1S2473 diode type to Drive block (to support Swedish Metal model).

Added “Transistor” Power Tube Type. This is now the default type for the Jazz 120 amp model and models a transistor output stage. Existing presets using this model are automatically updated.

Fixed wrong gain pot taper on all Double Verb, Vibrato Verb and Super Verb models. Taper was previously 20A, now “2-35”. Remastered models. Audition presets and adjust as necessary.

Fixed an issue with PVH 6160, PVH 6160+ Lead and 5153 Red amp models. These models have been remastered accordingly. It is recommended to do a soft reset to load the new default values.

Fixed wrong resistor value in 5153 100W Green amp model. Audition presets and adjust as necessary.

Fixed wrong resistor value in 5153 100W Stealth Blue model. Audition presets and adjust as necessary.

Fixed wrong B+ voltage in Friedman BE/HBE models (due to wrong dropping resistor value). These models have been remastered accordingly. The default Negative Feedback has been changed to being commensurate with being taken from the 4-ohm tap. Note that the first-generation BE-100 had the feedback off the speaker jack. This was then changed to the 4-ohm tap. The latest version has a three-way switch to select between 4/8/16-ohm taps. Audition presets and adjust as necessary.

Fixed wrong Master Volume taper in Solo 100 amp models. Remastered the models. Audition presets and adjust as necessary.

Fixed wrong bass taper in Band-Commander amp model. Audition presets and adjust as necessary.

Fixed wrong master volume taper in Mr Z MZ-38 amp model. Audition presets and adjust as necessary.

Changed behavior of PI Bias Excursion control in Amp block. In addition to varying the amount of phase inverter bias excursion, the control now also inversely controls the amount of distortion generated by the phase inverter. This can be used to reduce (or increase) the amount of distortion generated by the phase inverter. Note that many classic amps (e.g. the Deluxe Reverb) generate significant phase inverter distortion. This distortion is typically fuzzy and quite asymmetric leading to significant amounts of intermodulation distortion.

Changed default values of Dual Tape type in Delay block to be a bit more musical.

Fixed preset updater not correctly setting Preamp Hardness if Amp block using EF86 tube type.

Various other fixes and improvements.

How do you decide to revisit particular amps? Are you developing new measurement techniques that prompt correction of circuit types, do you just hear something wrong in the models, or is it something else?

Tried with my same old mark iv based preset...soundwise not so much difference but to me feels stiffier and compressed under the fingers/strings...tried to lower general gain on input gain especially but also on overdrive and treble to try to tame that compressed feeling with not much result...revert to 31.04 at the Moment.

That model is unaffected by the changes. It would be identical to 31.04.

This never gets old 😂

There's a gentleman on yt, a former professor for physics at a German university, who became a bit of a mythbuster regarding guitar tone. Only scientific approaches and measurements on guitars and amps and he gets a lot of hate, but his hard facts are equally hard to ignore. My favorite was a comparison from two guitar players who got their hands on four unmarked pickups and rated them. A couple of weeks later they got the same four pickups again and their ranking changed considerably.

Sorry for derailing, and thanks for the beta!!

Hearing changes from day to day. People swear they can hear things but it's simply perception. I answer these posts as a public service.
