Very cool indeed.

Can we also have 'transistor' type for preamp so we can simulate other solid-state amps like Randal RG100ES and Peavey Transtube which are very similar to a JCM800 preamp with MOSFETs instead of tubes.
It will open a lot of new unique sounds for metal, lo-fi, and other hard distortion 'effects'.
oh absolutely i somehow missed that part until you quoted it in your comment.

EDIT:
This could very well be how it works now, I just think the impedance curve could be a little more pronounced, unless of course that's already true to how the real circuit works.
My Bandit is in storage and I can't compare, I'm going by years old memory and might be completely off, bordering imagination land.
/EDIT

I've noticed that 'Transistor'' type power tube reduces the current following of the impedance curve hence making the sound flatter.

Peavey and Randal solved this by taking feedback over a small series 1R> resistor (back to the phase splitter) to measure current and follow the impedance curve frequency response like tube driven power amp does.
Effectively, the audible effect of the impedance curve could (should?) be much stronger.

*Hope partial schematics don't infringe copy write, if they do I will remove.

The midrange clipping in a tube power amp is typically dominated by power tube grid clipping because most tube amps use slightly undermatched transformers and most speakers have less than nominal impedance in the midrange. The grids clip before the plates saturate. The improved modeling should make the midrange a little "sweeter".

Notable exceptions are Trainwrecks which use overmatched transformers.
this was the old trick to raise matching transformer parameter a little bit?

I am really excited about the transistor tube type in the power amp as well. Probably for the same reasons you are, those glorious solid state tones from the 90s(Death, Crowbar, Pantera, Suffocation, Gorguts, etc) and the Brutal Death Metal world (Disgorge, Deeds Of Flesh, Defeated Sanity, Dying Fetus, etc)

I tested it out last night, changing the 6505+ Lead model(this is the closest we have to the iconic Ampeg VH140C’s frequency response) to transistor and preferred it over the stock settings for my scooooooped BDM tone. I did notice that the volume was reduced considerably when selecting it. My questions are:

-What anticipated effect does master volume have with transistor type now?

-What frequency response does Depth and Presence have now?

-Any other changes behind the scenes when selecting transistor type, like disabling Cathode Follower, Sag, Bias, etc)

-Any plans to add different transistor types?

I’m really excited about this and eager to learn more about it to help me get closer to some tones/feel that have eluded me and others for the past twenty years with the AxeFx. 🤘

Are you going to swim against the stream again now my good man ? :D :D :D :D

BOSS HM-2 is a joyful event! The appearance of the “Transistor” Power Tube Type gives hope for the appearance of such long-awaited amplifiers as the Randall RG100ES, Randall Warhead X2, Randall V2, Randall T2, AMPEG VH-140C, Marshall Valvestate 8100 in the kit for the BOSS HM-2 =)

Thank you for the HM 2 Metal Pedal I can’t wait to give it a try. I’m holding off till after our gig tomorrow night then I’ll load the new FW 31.04
Not crazy about the Waza version the original 80’s is bad to the bone. I will try to a/b my Hm 2 to the new HM 2. Thanks Cliff…
