Conducted a general test of all of the algorithms in the new improved pitch block. Tracking seems to be working great and better than before! Thank you team Fractal! This was one of the very few and rare weaker points in the Fractalverse and this was a smart move to improve it. I hope to see a feedback algorithm added to the Pitch block one day that emulates the Digitech FreQout. That would make my life and the Fractal effects arsenal complete!! Line 6 has emulated this in their Feedbacker algorithm a couple years ago so I know it can be done. Also looked at my preset with the Optical Compressor. That was one of the biggest culprits of CPU intensity after the recent updates. So much so I had to remove it in my FM3 Mk2, FM9 MK2 presets to keep them from CPU overage. It looks like I saved about 1-2% of CPU with Optical presets. When this revision appears on the FM3 and FM9 I will be able to better test the improvement of that efficiency because those presets will likely work again with that compressor. Thank you for providing such awesome updates and service to your customers. You are absolutely the best!
I would love a new dedicated freq-out block so it doesn’t take up a pitch block on the FM9 😍

Did the update and the Whammy would never come off auto-engaging even when set to off and hard reset channel. Went back to 29 and worked like it was supposed to so I'll stay there. Don't know if that's a bug or maybe I needed to re-install the beta. Also, I use the VC all the time and thought it worked better than every other modeler I ever used so if there is any improvement I didn't notice it but even if its a little better that's awesome. I sold the QC strictly based on the awful transpose function going up 1 step and it imploding all over itself in all their plugins and the unit.

((Re-Installed update and no issue with the Whammy now.))

Thank you for your continued support and improvements, FAS! I use the Virtual Capo on almost a daily basis, so anything that improves its performance is very welcome. Question: On the VC, would you recommend using the new Tracking Adjust default value of 3.30? It was 5.00 previously. Thanks!
I use it daily and go for the least amount of latency and introducing tracking adjust just introduced latency. Tracking adjust at zero works amazing for me set on notes and the low and high cut off. there is still latency but its the least amount at zero setting

On various FW I've had that issue from time to time. last night was playing a preset with Wah and auto engage just stuck. I had to remove and reinsert the block to get it working. Not sure what the issue is
I reinstalled the update and no issues now. Don't know what caused it to stick originally.

Is it just me? When I installed FW29, I decided to do some IR scrolling. I used to use one of the Matchbox 57 IR's coupled with a Matchbox 121. Back in the day they sounded really good, but a little "honky/boxy". I loaded them up after the FW update, and WOW, they sound a LOT better than they did. More natural, more like my own Matchless cab. Checked some old favorite York Audio IR's and they sound better now too. Loving how much more natural, present and weighty some of my old favorites sound now.

I was playing last night with the VC a bit more. I had commented earlier that I was having good results at -3 steps on a preset i was messing with few days ago but last night went to an older preset of mine that had the VC and it seemed to have more noteable latency all the sudden. not sure if it was my ears or something else that changed. I removed the block and reinserted with the latest settings. There was some latency happening i didnt have the other day. The only difference I can think of right now is that last night I was going up (only 1 step) whereas the other day (with better results) was downshifting. Not sure why that would make any difference. I need to revisit these two presets later tonight to confirm....

Im sure this is also probs common...but notice better results with less blocks going...in particular any delays or esp a pitch detune and /or trem type blocks. Either way its not a massive deal to me...if i am playing a lot of songs in other tunings regularly i'll just opt to retune one of my guitars or if i'm playing along to tunes on my computer I usually just throw the song into audacity and pitch shift and save a playlist of those pitch shifted tunes

What you’re hearing is confirmed I believe. Cliff mentioned somewhere that the pitch shifter algorithm performs worse under heavy CPU loads. This applies to all versions/hardware AFAIK. I wouldn't be surprised if this is partly why the public reception on it can be all over the place.

Not just you.

I did a BUNCH of tracking last night and checked out the latest presets and more specifically the Mesa Mark 2C+ and Mark 2C++ preset. Every scene uses different Dynacabs and I was struck buy how incredibly different each scene sounded by basically just using different CAB settings.

Well, this is the Axe-Fx III firmware discussion. Every conceivable way to add a second pitch block for other products has been discussed at length. You would have better results posting in one of those threads.
Didn’t even realize I said that about the FM9 😂 my bad. Same wish list would be neat though for the whole lineup, as I also have an Axe fx iii. I would assume it requires a pitch block of some sort though.

Is anyone having issues with auto engage sticking still? I'm going through number of my presets that have Wah block connected to a spring loaded pedal with auto engage...and been having to remove/reinsert the wah block to get it to take. Not sure if its maybe a wah block that is from my block library/global across presets that maybe got corrupted or something happened with a FW update (this or previous). My pedal is reading correctly in the sweep.

I decided to get a sustainer for a couple of my guitars - natural sounding, at any volume, and no artifacts! Works fantastic! The only one that would fit in my SGs was the Tony Veyz Sustainer (only on Facebook right now), but you might want to get one of the commercial ones more normally available. I use push-pull pots so as not to spoil the look, because I play in an AC/DC tribute band, www.akdc.rocks, and I wanted to keep it looking stock.

I have a Mission pedal that is spring-loaded on my main preset that is assigned to auto engage the wah and haven't noticed any issues.

Got ya! I don't know that I want to use a battery in my guitar, but I have pondered the digitech freqout maybe in an insert some how.

I haven't! Does it have options to randomize the pitch or the feedback? I assume this is done through a pitch block?
No pitch block needed. Read his post at the start of the thread I linked. I just set it up exactly as he suggested and it works perfectly for me. @2112 (Leon Todd) has a YouTube video on it as well.

[edit] He uses a pitch follower (I think that what it’s called) in the synth block. You can tweak it. I’ve never used the Freqout pedal so I can’t compare, but for bringing on that sustained feedback vibe it delivers.
