Think it was the In that was tied to Through. That's the logical functionality of a midi through port, to echo incoming midi to through, so you can daisy-chain devices.

I get ya. I was just wondering if there was a latent hardware feature that allowed this.

Or perhaps out/thru is available via usb. I could take the usb into a breakout to 5 pin and drive a number of devices I currently drive haphazardly. Loopers. Modular synth. Etc.

The AFIII tempo can be propagated to other MIDI devices via USB and MIDI ports.

You can just install the latest. But be prepared to tweak your presets if there's been big changes to the modelling/effects compared to your current version. I'd also back up your settings/presets before you upgrade. That way you can downgrade and reinstall your old settings/presets if something goes wrong.

Get an Axe Standard and a XL+ stopped all GAS lol

I haven’t saved any special tweaks or settings yet. I’m still having fun with what there is! So no back up needed yet.

Possible Bug:
If I look at the Speaker IR Picker in Axe-Edit, there are a lot of empty Slots now in the Factory one and two Banks! I did RANF two times and also the round double arrow symbol near the search box! If you select this empty Slots, sometime its silent, sometimes there is a spookie Cab sound!
Just looked at the Hardware: Its the same Problem...!

Axe-Fx III Firmware Release Notes​

27.01

Added “Touch Wah” type to Filter block. This is similar to the Envelope Filter but uses a different type of detector and voltage-to-frequency converter. This type can be used to create interesting touch-sensitive filter sounds. It can also be used to replicate the Korg A3 Touch Wah sound as follows:

• Set Mode to MIX
• Set Start Freq to maximum. Set Stop Frequency to minimum.
• Start with a fairly high Attack Time, around 500ms.
• Set Release Time to around 200ms.
• Adjust Sensitivity to taste.

Improved Auto-Swell type in Volume block. Added Release time and Hysteresis controls to allow fine-tuning to playing style. Hysteresis controls how much extra the signal must fall below the threshold before the detector releases.

Changed the Envelope Follower in the Megatap, Multitap and Plex blocks to use the same algorithm as the improved Auto-Swell algorithm in the Volume block as the purpose of the Envelope Follower is to generate volume swells.

Added MIDI Clock transmit. This can be configured to send MIDI clock messages to MIDI, USB or both (or off). Default is MIDI only. NOTE: USB Firmware 1.17 or greater is required to send MIDI Clock over USB. If you require MIDI Clock to a USB host then you need to install USB Firmware version 1.17 or greater.

Added selectable MIDI Clock receive source. This can be configured to receive MIDI clock messages from MIDI or USB (or off). Default is MIDI.

Added activity sensing to internal pedals, FC pedals and external controllers. This stops Auto-Engage from engaging an effect if the pedal/controller is not connected. This prevents, for example, a Wah being engaged if Auto-Engage is on but no pedal is connected (i.e., you left your expression pedal at home).

Fixed LFO Phase not working for Vibe modes in Phaser block.

Various other fixes and improvements.

I noticed that IRs I was trying to import wouldn't save. I tried Axe-Edit manage cabs and also importing direct from Cab Lab 4. Not sure if it's related to this issue. I ended up reverting back to FW 27 for now and it works like normal.
