If rack bags weigh more than molded cases, why do they exist? What's the plus?

So I have been using the SKB 4 space, works perfectly so far.

Fly gigs are a part of my experience, so it's great that it has convenient TSA locks as well.

This is EXACTLY 49.5lbs with Axe III and 2 Shure Guitar wireless systems.
EASY set up: pull out the rack, plug in 2 power cables, plug in 2 XLR's from Axe Out 1 to FOH and a 3rd XLR to FC6...DONE
OK, I also plug in a Fractal mini expression pedal to the FC6

I like the feel of cloth better than plastic and I can sling it on my shoulder if I need to. Cover flaps are a bit annoying, but I do like that I can simply tuck them away under the case. Oh and it's got a pocket.

I bought the generic Rockville 4U with bag...then decided I liked the tolex head look



I now put the head in the carry bag it came with and the top has room for chords and cables. ~$50 (not the head case)
