The Friedman models sound so much "better" now. I know I should probably come up with a "better" descriptor, but they just sound... "better"!
Do an A/B comparison clip, that's usually the best way to hear the differences more objectively.I did try to keep up reading about the betas and now I made the jump and installed this update. Can anyone tell me where the Cygnus magic happens? Which settings do you tweak to make cygnus come to life? Just installing it made no audible difference to my ears.
I’ll try it loud and see what happens.

That's the way to go with Cygnus! I would strongly advise anybody to redo the basic amp plus cab tones from the ground up with this beta. Do not expect the old settings to bring out the best in Cygnus. After installing one of the previous Beetas I could not hear much of a difference. After I reset the amp block there it was!
If you use your old presets from Ares try making an amp reset and you would hear the difference and the magic. Also I would recommend a "system reset" going from a previous firmware. May be that will help.I did try to keep up reading about the betas and now I made the jump and installed this update. Can anyone tell me where the Cygnus magic happens? I've tried to save templates of my favorite effect chains so I can redial amps as needed...it has helped. It's not dumb and it's a similar situation to input levels, which have mystified nearly everyone.

I'm of the start from scratch school in major updates, but that's difficult for a lot of people.
So an amp reset is just changing the amp block to something and changing it back to the original model? Tweak to taste? Does a system reset do that for all of them or does it reset all of your FC's, etc?
Sorry for the dumb questions...I've had an Axe Standard, an AX8, but I've only had the AX3 for 2 months
not for the first time that I liked the weird version of something. I'll check the new non weird version this eveningHow about "the Friedman HBE models no longer sound weird", which is about as descriptive as any post I saw.
Just curious: Which of these Axe III Friedman HBE/BE models do you like the most? Never had a real Friedman amp and would like to hear an opinion from a long-term user.I tried all friedman models and compared it to my real friedman and guys, FINALLY, it’s there !!!
Bass guys.... check the USA Bass 400 1 model !! Sounds sick.
And also the 65 Bassguy Bass
