Although 16X was already quite good, the latest versions from 20X onwards is really good. In terms of that you get good sounds, but also very good feel (!) without many tweaks.Last show for quite a while. Can't wait to see what a jump 16.4 to 21.02 will be.
Right, hahaha It all depends on the items you work with of course. The midi stuff can be the same of course.I have some very, very complicated presets with all sorts of midi sample commands, so the idea of starting from scratch is pretty daunting.
I was going to change from using the Archon as my primary amp to a Mesa with a compressor in front of it (modeled after a Petrucci preset), so I'll start there and see what else needs some tweaking.
Caffeine has kicked in...yes I see what you're sayingRight, hahaha It all depends on the items you work with of course. The midi stuff can be the same of course.
What I ment with start from scratch is:
Set all blocks that have impact back to avoid that the tweaks you made are not needed anymore.
So you start from the correct baseline.
The Lehle 1TO3 switcher arrived this morning. Swapped out the Morley and voila! No more noise. My wife approves, so thank you very much for the suggestion.FWIW, the Morley ABC works fine as an input switcher, but is seriously lacking as an output switcher. I had to replace it with a Lehle that provides better isolation.
Oh yeah you are right, I went back and forth between easy and advanced mode with a higher threshold, yeah you can tell.Yes the ratio is hidden in the easy mode but his value change as you turn up the threshold. You can hear it , as you have the weird artefact like a high ratio do, if you put too much threshold.
For me not great because I don't see well due to two retinal detachments so I need the large screen.
For me it was a case of using it as a time to get more familiar with the unit itself. I played around with the new parameters on the new stuff a little bit and decided I would wait for axe edit, now I'm checking in multiple times a day to see if it is updated yet
As always, it would be great if you could re amp some isolated tracks from the same source to see how things change. I know in some cases the difference won't be for the better cause the changes mean you need to tweak the presets but I'm curious to see if we can hear anything in like for like presets.Last show for quite a while. Feels like something is afoot.
Beta on 2 for a week, no update to Axe Edit, key players absent...
I actually recorded direct guitar and reamped with 16.4 a couple of weeks ago into a Logic project, so in the coming weeks I will have direct AB for high gain, edge of breakup, and clean to compare. As always, it would be great if you could re amp some isolated tracks from the same source to see how things change. Baseless speculation - Axe-EDIT will be updated along with the release of Beta 3 along side a major feature addition. Otherwise they probably would have updated Axe-Edit sooner.Feels like something is afoot.

You should thank god every day that you’re not a prostitute…The gate is already the major addition
I have only tried 1/4 of the new features as tweaking hundreds of presets on my knees is not really confortable, but once we have Mr edit, I’m ok for the whole year
