Anyone noticed a weird high-mid breakup?

I'm experimenting with using my Axe-Fx2 as an IR simulator - using my real amps into a Suhr Reactive Load and then into the front panel input of my Axe for cabinet sims.

One kinda strange thing I'm noticing is that there always seems to be this "edge of breakup" thing going on in the high-mid frequencies - if I had to guess, somewhere around 1.5-2 kHz, but maybe even higher. This may be a natural product of the micing process, actually, but I haven't spent enough time fiddling with loud amps in recording environments to be able to tell.

What I do know is that it's not necessarily something I hear in the room when I'm crafting sounds and shedding tunes. A couple of times it's caused me some real headaches because I feel like I can't seem to get the amp "clean enough."

This happens across all cab IRs I've used, but I'm currently using the Celestion Blue 112 Lo-Gain Mix IR from Celestion's own IR package.

Any advice?
