Another problem: external controllers very slow/jumpy

Ran into another problem with my II tonight - Both my external controller pedals are very very jumpy and slow to respond. I have ext 7 set up for volume and ext 8 set up for controlling effects, wah, etc.

Ext 7 comes in on CC 17, and ext 8 comes in on CC16. I've monitored the MIDI messages coming into the axe with a midi monitor (actually I just turned the axe midi "thru" to on and looked at the output) and they are smooth like I expect; most numbers 0-127 are being passed as I move through the pedal sweeps. So I believe my MIDI into the axe is good.

Any ideas? This basically renders the pedals unusable.

Thanks!
Geoff

FOund something strange - I have a midi solutions dual footswitch controller in the chain - when I remove that, the exp pedals act normal.

BUT, when I monitor the incoming MIDI, the messages look the same to me. Smooth either way... sort of points to the dual fsw controller as the problem, but I don't understand why the messages look the same.... doesn't sound like an axe problem, anyway....

ok found the real problem - its definitely outside the axe -

somehow the data/location of the cc's im sending is getting reversed... all of these should be on CC 17 but somehow the dual footswitch controller is reversing the CC number and the CC data. very strange. (last two columns are cc number and data)

Yes, thanks Sean. the rates looked the same, but I didn;t notice the data/cc reversal thing when I first looked at the midi monitor

I have noticed this while editing, but not while playing the patch after editing is complete.

The controllers are definitely slow/jumpy while editing with Axe-Edit.

I have the same bug!

when I sweep realllly slowly, everything is fine but has soon as I move the controler a little faster, it's all laggy and jumpy...

I use a fc200 with expansion controlers...

did you find a fix for this?

it also make all expression usage impossible to me...

btw: all worked fine with my 1st gen axe... so i tough my cable went bad,

i swaped cable and I still have the same problem....

If you read through all the posts, third party device was messing things up.

For your issue, does this look like what you are experiencing:
http://forum.fractalaudio.com/other-midi-controllers/39371-axe-fx-ii-roland-fc-300-a.html

I don't know if this affects the fc200.If it does there should be a fix on the way.
