AM4 seems to be doing super well as I expected :D Just got email from fractal.

Ok you got me! And thanks for including a SPDIF input.

So, I think I can do this after reading the manual but I would set it up šŸ†™ n effects mode like this:
Drive : Amp/Boost : Mod : Delay
I usually take a split signal and go a>to clean amp and b> to FOH.
This should be doable yes? How does this take pedals into the front like fuzz, od, maybe a wah?
Man this looks great, and I can leave my good old FM3 in my home studio and not have to lug it around.

VP4 and AM4 are not the same thing. Jeeez what's with the new people that come on here with the attitudes? Imo it's dumb to make statements like this before becoming informed, which you clearly are not.

It has majority of the most important things but there is some things left out. I can't tell you what though off the top of my head except like AM4 doesn't have TONESTACK TYPE option but nothing that would warrant a drastic change in tone.

Amp block expert edit has a expert, preamp, poweramp, cabinet and speaker tabs with tons of options to tweak if needed.

Most effects have 1 tab for expert edit, but some do have a 2nd tab for modulation etc.

I have the FM3 and the VP4. Is the AM4 more powerful than this combination? I am wondering if this replaces the FM3
 
Assumptions that are wrong / myths that seem to persist.
  • Chassis that looks the same on the outside have the same innards.
  • 4 blocks means that I can only change my sound in 4 ways per preset.
  • Gapless switching does not negate my need for more than 4 blocks.
  • All amp modellers are similar in the quality of their amp modelling.
  • Physics isn't a thing, thus I should be able to have Axe-Fx III level DSP in an uncooled box the size of an AM4 or smaller, for cheaper than an AM4...
  • Fractal's interfaces are hard to use.
Anyone think of any more ?
(and please correct me if I'm wrong on any of this)

Downloaded the driver twice... once per machine. It installs perfectly fine. Fractal Bot doesn't even see it (AM4).

Cable is good. Brand new. Came with a UA Volt 876 I grabbed for ADAT expansion. It functions perfectly with the same cable.

Anyone have any suggestions?

Tried rebooting computer and AM4 and try again? Sometimes all it takes is a reboot!

I'm thinking even though your cables is good - try another cable if you have one also plug into another usb on you computer

Also try shutting off any anti-virus or malware software you may have running

Also try loading the usb driver as administrator dam windows lol
