🔥Introducing ICONS - Amp Modeling + FX - Plugins & Standalone

It will be in future families. We're also planning to re-issue an updated version of FAS-FX Reverb.

Let me lobby for not siloing effects/cabs across bundles. That gets messy for end users.

I think you can make the case for the price of individual Fender, Marshall, and Mesa bundles based on the amps alone, but the effects should be synchronous across all imo. You don’t want people to have to load a plugin solely to get insert effect XYZ_ because it’s only in Marshall vs Fender etc.

Let the amps sell the bundles. There is no need strategically place effects. There are some companies (that don’t need mention) that do this type of stuff, but you guys are totally capable of not resorting to that and making these compelling just on amp variants alone.

Congrats on the release, Fractal Audio! This is one of those “ never thought I’d see it” things, based on comments and concerns over hacking in the past.

While I don’t personally need this, I fully appreciate what it provides to others who do and how it fills a long-standing (and much complained about) gap in the FAS family of offerings. It was a logical evolution that many, myself included, thought would have been released already if it were possible to package the tech securely. It’s awesome that you found a way forward on it.

I was also very surprised. But if so, then the game is worth it.

The interface is very aesthetic, this is what I always lacked in ax edit - seeing a picture of the amplifier and pedal is nice. It would be even more authentic if, for example, the pedal controllers in the plugin were located in accordance with the real location.

Looking at new Mac Studio release by June...hopefully ICONS ULTIMATE BUNDLE (aka Fractal Native) will be available by then. I understand releasing packages slowly at first to make sure everything works properly, but I want everything.

Another thing in the name of compatibility/similarity with hardware. Dynacabs are nice and all, but factory cabs aren't available outside of the hardware, it would be nice to have them bundled with the plugin somehow.

We're planning to offer a commercial cab pack containing most of the Factory IRs from the Axe-Fx III. There are a few legal hoops to finish jumping through. What's nice is that as .IR files, you'll also be able to remix them in Cab-Lab.

As an AxeFxIII owner, this doesn't fill a need for me at present, but I'll be following the future releases and updates with interest. My wish has always been better functionality for AxeEdit, especially as a plugin I could use within my DAW. I'm not trying to rain on FAS's parade, I'm glad to see them expanding their software footprint. I expect this will do well.

Thought I would post this here too :D

Cliff has stated:

"A demo is definitely coming. We are meeting with iLok this week to discuss this."

I can't help but imagine this meeting taking place in an underground parking garage with everyone wearing suits, perhaps sunglasses even. Cliff and Mr. ILok meet in the middle of the two groups and Cliff eventually asks "you got the stuff?" before Mr. ILok nods to a henchman off to his side, who then carries out a black duffel bag full of iLok USBs or whatever and drops it on the ground in between them. Cliff then nods to a henchman of his own, who carries forth and presents a briefcase full of cash, to which Mr. ILok eyes suspiciously and says "count it", which then causes Cliff to take slight professional offense and firmly state "don't worry, it's all there"

And then a random stranger passes by and sees and overhears the deal going down and ask "So when do we expect to see this happen?"

Cliff and Mr. iLok looks back and says...

soon GIF
