Going to the darkside!

i have an Avatar 2x12 cab with V30's and a QSC poweramp. The cab is wired stereo, 8ohm, and when i record or play live i mic up both speakers. It sounds great! I'd suggest going stereo....

from firmware 7 to 9

dude!! something happened to the amp settings...they sound fantastic!! props to Cliff for making some sweet tones even sweeter...it is like the modeling kind of smoothed out and fixed some of this issues i was having making amps sound right. I mean, it was great before, but it is even better...

sooo...as far as the tube bias...i personally liked the aggression of running the "tubes" hot - it just added a huge amount of umph to my ears. the whole point of my exercise was to make the most brutal sounding patches of each amp i could that still sounded good to my ears without plugging in...

Thanks for the input! They are all very similiar, but really the amps themselves are also somewhat similiar in real life. I can upload the presets to the axe-exchange in a couple of days...won't be near my axe till Tuesday

ok, so i decided i needed to record some direct tones with drums. unfortunately i am no drum programmer so in garageband i just loaded a stock clip and played some chunky riffs to get an idea how the guitar tones would sound with drums. I didn't bother trying to dial out some of the low end...

thanks for the replies...i appreciate it! i agree about the gain issue...i was trying to model the tones off of some recordings i found from a guy named james lugo who recorded samples of a stupid amount of amps haha... in a couple days i'll post some more clips of different amp tones i was...
