Software FracPad III - iOS/Android/Mac/Win Editor for the Axe-Fx II/XL/XL+, AX8/FX8, Axe-Fx III and FM3/FM9

4.01 public beta. I tried messaging around with a bunch of the settings, but didn't get any different results. It acts like it's not connected, even though the FM9 MIDI shows up in the connection menu.

I downloaded the app demo for iOS, and can connect to the FM9 via bluetooth (and USB), but no preset shows up on the screen with either connection. What am I missing?

I'm certainly going to be! I understand your point, but everyone has a different idea of what they want for an expression pedal. And many people already own ones that they love. Some people don't want one. Also it would have made the product a lot bigger.

Axe FX II vs Helix: initial thoughts

I don't think the Helix is a turd, by any means. As I expected, the models don't show the depth and complexity that the Fractal ones do. And really, how could we expect them to? The Helix has the same exact chipset as the AX8, but boasts 4 amps at once compared to only one for the AX8.

Gator shallow case-- deep enough?

I agree. But SKB doesn't seem to make a case with 12.5" depth. It's either 10.5" (too shallow), or 19". The 12.5" depth seems perfect to me! I grudgingly use the Gator case, too.

Pedal Board/Flightcase MFC Dimensions???

(tangential topic) Regarding Rondo cases, I'm not impressed with the quality at all. I'm not usually hard on my gear, and don't tour--I play at local clubs maybe twice a month. I've been toting my FCB1010 in a Rondo case for a while now. Almost immediately, two of the little rubber feet broke...

Carver PM-300

I'm also using a Carver amp. A friend of mine gave me an old (and heavy) GA-250, which I like a lot better than my Carvin DCM150 and DCM200L. It's a 2U format, and 10 lbs heavier than the DCM150, but the sound is worth it.

Marsha BE, OMG!!!! Unbelievable

So far, I'm loving the Marsha BE & HBE. I'm sending it through a Carvin DCM150 into a Mesa 2x12 recto cab. Sounds crazy good.

Yep. I bought a standard, thinking I'd never have a need for those "Ultra-only" features. Now I have a use for a couple of them...anyone wanna trade down? ;) I'll probably end up selling mine on evilbay, and ordering a new Ultra--not necessarily in that order.

FCB1010

I figured it out...when I loaded the sysex file from the FCB, I discovered that the MIDI channel for the Expression B pedal got changed somehow. Of course it wouldn't work that way... :roll: Lesson learned: if something doesn't behave as expected, download the sysex file and have a look.

Axe-Fx Firmware Version 8.02 Released

Just updated from 7.04 to 8.02 (thanks for the help Congalocke). *BIG* difference in sound quality to my ears. With the old firmware, I couldn't seem to find the feel I was looking for, but now it's there! I'm thrilled. Now I can consider selling my Rivera.

Triaxis vs. Axe test

I'm going to do a similar comparison on Wednesday. A friend of mine is going to bring over his Triaxis/Digitech 1101/Mesa 2:50 rig, and we're going to spend a bit of time with them. He's considering buying an AxeFX, pending the results of this comparison. We'll see what happens!
