So I sold my AX8 but have the opportunity to get an Axe Standard. Price seems good. How disappointed am I going to be tonally? Can it load IR's? Am I wasting my money?

I liked the OH's across the board in these comparisons personally. Agree with the above post not the 3Sigma's... not digging them at all on thrones I bought.

What is your favorite IR Cab Pack/Pack's?

Man the new Celestion IR's are awesome. The Creamback 65 is particularly good. The OwnHammer stuff is great but a LOT to sift through. HATE the 3Sigma packs I bought.

Nice! I had a good "Trial by Fire" with my AX8 as well. Had 2 hours to get it learned and presets/scenes programmed for a gig. Piece of cake. Wish I got on the Fractal train years ago!

Removing AX8 Feet for Velcro?

Got some of the 3.5 6mm screws from McFaddendale today. They only had the round d tops with hex bolt end but they work great. Thankfully the height of the dual lock compensated for the round ends.

Yeah this is something I'll need to mess with as well. Unfortunately, I don't really know what any of those parameters even do. I suppose it can just start futtzing (that's technical jargon) with stuff and see what happens!

Can't get a great tone

Tough to tell on this vid. His strings are as loud as the Axe. Seems to be a pretty straight forward tone. I'll download your patch and give it a go.

Well I should say I STOLE my first preset with scenes. I borrowed heavily from @Burgs Brett Kingman's Plexi vid but I think it sounds pretty good! Used my PRS SC245. 57/08 buckers.

Ax8 with guitar power amp and cab - any experience?

Thanks all! Seems simple enough. Dumb question. Any effect I place after the amp block is treated as though I am running through and amps "effects loop" correct? So essentially a 4CM with drives in front of the amp block and mod/time based after?

is this the right size for an AX8, 2 expression pedals and a Line6 G50? Does it bow in the middle? Doesn't appre to have a center cross beam. Also, what is the preferred attachment mechanism? I am generally a Dual Lock kind of guy.

Part of it may also be that you are not used to a speaker being angled up towards you. I had a hard time with powered wedges at first.

Dunlop Mini Volume Pedal

Used the pedal at NYE service and it worked great. Only thing I noticed was using the Volume block after the amp block but BEFORE the cab block seemed a little "scratchy" and not smooth when doing swells with distorted tones. Do I need the volume block before the amp too?

The 101 has an effects loop as well but I actually preferred using the main input and Lead setting. Never had to go above about 9:00 on the Master which was like 5 watts

Dunlop Mini Volume Pedal

Just grabbed the DVP3 (X) as I just got my AX8 today and have a gig tomorrow. Only expression/volume GC had in stock. Anyway, for volume functionality n do I just use a standard patch cable into the "Output" spot on the pedal and then into one of the loops? Not really sure how to hook this up...

thinking of switching from traditional (royal atlantic) to FRFR (freidman asm 12)

I am interested in the ASM as well. I am ordering an AX8 and planned on using my Fryette Power Station and Splawn 2x12 but that seems like a lot to bring. I like the idea of a powered wedge but have been underwhelmed by most of the ones I've tried.
