Stupid purchase that worked out well

The Echo file is actually "Duck Run Main" .. I think there was a little offset issue possibly when you dumped the preset. I haven't listened to it, so maybe it's the correct patch with an odd name...

For me, it took about 4-5 months until I got the fiddlin' out of my system (and had made a set of patches I was happy to use). I've done very little tweaking since then, other than after major firmware updates. The best news is I haven't had a case of GAS in well over 1.5 years - that's a major...

Welcome to the machine!! However, most people on here will tell you that to experience the Axe-Fx at its best, you should roll your own patches starting with nothing but amp/cab and building from there. The included patches, while fine as a broad survey and inspiration for what the unit can do...

That's what I figured it was - I've never personally had the usage that high on a preset before (which is why I thought that CPU usage info was important enough to post). I discovered it right when I had to pack up for a trip and never got a chance to play with it to test knocking down the CPU...

Running cab sims through my combo (clip)

There's no law that says you can't run amp/cab sims through a combo or guitar amp/cab. It's a rule of thumb that works in general since any combo or amp/cab add their own coloration on top of what the amp/cab sims do, and that addition usually (but not always, depending on the gear) sounds like...

Specific preset popping/cracking on 7.18

I've been using Ultra 7.18 since it came out as well as all the most recent Ultra banks. Can someone out there verify that Preset #321 "Stone in Love" causes mad popping/cracking regardless of input/output level controls? I've had my unit for a year-and-a-half and have never heard anything like...

Couple of questions before purchase an Axe-Fx

As for the Axe-FX sounding thinner at higher volumes, I suspect whoever made that comment is someone that doesn't understand that you have to tweak your patches to the environment and at least in the ballpark of the volume at which you expect to play. Getting all your patches the way you want...

AXE FX vs Revalver MKII vs 6505

IMHO, the Axe-Fx (unfortunately) came off worst in that thread - the problem with a comparison like that is you're at the mercy of the guy configuring the gear, and that recording sounds incredibly thin. I have to wonder how much effort was put into making it sound like a 6505 (if any). I'd love...

Haven't listened to this yet, Hunter, but which DG tone are you going for with this? I ask because I've been working on a patch based on the original studio recording off Wish You Were Here, but I've got some final tweaking left before I post it.
