    GPUs are simply the wrong tool for the job here. You could do it but no sane engineer would use something less efficient and more expensive for a given workload if they don’t have to. It sounds like you want a software-based AxeFX. That’s cool, I get it. But GPUs do nothing to help that happen.

    The DSP processes incoming audio. If there was an exploit, only the guitar player using the Axe would be able to exploit it, and to what end? This whole scenario doesn’t make any sense at all.

    I use SPDIF for going directly into my Pioneer home theater receiver (I know this is kind of a weird configuration, but I have really great speakers connected to it, and it sounds AMAZING). And it doesn't have any options for tweaking its SPDIF interface.
