    Trying to get on board...

First off I’m by no means discrediting what’s been said above and if you have the $$ they’re probably your best bet. That being said I moved to an axe fx setup in he past year. I had several high end tube amps and about $4k in pedals that were constantly changing. Having sold everything and gone...

Help, the Axe-Fx II XL + took over my computer audio

I'd think the easiest solution would be to find a way of using a sound card (existing, or a separate one if it doesn't have the connections) for monitoring and have the axe fx feed an input on there. There are plenty of cards out there that would allow such a setup that are a lot cheaper than...

Need help with REALLY bad latency on new computer + other weird issues (USB audio XL+)

Have you opened and played with Scarlett mix control? (I think that's the name) it allows you to set its latency. Not sure if it will solve it but may. I'm currently running a similar setup but sold my 2i4 for a 6i6, the advantage being the S/PDIF. I then have a digital out from the axe and a...

Hum from Guitar when not touching the metal

No worries man glad it was such a simple fix. Should be able to switch the monster out for a brand new one easily

Hum from Guitar when not touching the metal

Have you tried a different cable? Has it just started to happen? Sounds like a grounding issue.

Using Fractal as DAW input vs Scarlett?

As do I. It allows me more versatility. You'll have to select spdif as clock source in mix control to avoid clock pops

Repairing the Axe FX: help needed

Don't know if there's a schematic for the unit but I'd start there. I can't imagine the wiring to the headphone jack is very complex if you have some experience with electronics once you see it, it should be something as simple as a failed solder joint. Before you go that route though (I'm sure...

Looper REC via Footswitch without MFC-101?

Take a look here mapping cc's should get it done (I'd assume) http://wiki.fractalaudio.com/axefx2/index.php?title=Looper_effect

    Software FracPad III - iOS/Android/Mac/Win Editor for the Axe-Fx II/XL/XL+, AX8/FX8, Axe-Fx III and FM3/FM9

So I've found that if you're quick enough tapping I/O for MD midi it'll still load in and work as intended. It's not ideal but works in the interim.

    Software FracPad III - iOS/Android/Mac/Win Editor for the Axe-Fx II/XL/XL+, AX8/FX8, Axe-Fx III and FM3/FM9

Don't know if anyone else is having this issue (or if its been previously mentioned). In the Amp block under the GEQ page I don't have the option for Pre/Post under EQ location

    Problem using the Mission SP1-R

I'm guessing if you switch your kin/max values for the switch it will resolve it. I.e. If min is 0 and max is 127 flip it to min 127 max 0

I am new and Thinking about getting the Axe-Fx II XL+ For Black Friday or should I?

I've never owned or used the 11rack so I can't comment on that front. I have used a lot of other modelers in the past and have always quickly gone back to my tube amps and pedal boards. I have multiple sets of cans, a set of Yamaha HS5s and 8's and QSC's each one sounds better than the last but...

Axe-Fx II "Quantum" Rev 4.01 Public Beta

Welcome. I'm new here too and equally happy with my purchase!

Axe-Fx II "Quantum" Rev 4.01 Public Beta

Haha yeah that irony is not lost on me man and for most of us is a completely unnecessary feature. However it is a feature, and one that from what I read, was requested? (don't quote me on that) Regardless its a feature some have become accustomed to, and as pwrmac mentioned above, some actually...

Axe-Fx II "Quantum" Rev 4.01 Public Beta

Man I've been trying to stay out of this... first off Q4.01 seems great been playing with both the hook and legato and they are bother awesome. As far as this MK debate goes. To say the updates are 'baked in' is ridiculous. I get what you're trying to say but it's simply not true. When I...

I can't seem to get ANY good tones?

To echo what others have already said on here. Monitors will make a big difference. That being said I have played through a few pairs of headphones and couldn't say the tone is bad.... I have a pair or Yamaha HS5's which sound a lot better and a pair of QSC10's which sound better again...

    First Practice with the Axe

Welcome man. I'm in the same boat having had my unit a little over a month now. I still get just as excited to play as I did when I first plugged it in.

Silver Jubilee - Noise and hum

Is the axe and amp plugged into the same outlet? Same circuit? Try switching the power source with the axe straight into the front of the amp (not 4cm) and see if the noise goes away
  22. S

Silver Jubilee - Noise and hum

Split cable? Stereo TRS to dual mono TS? If so a) that's not the right cable and b) could very easily be a source of a lot of noise. I that is the case what is the second TS doing? Hanging free?
  23. S

Silver Jubilee - Noise and hum

Brad is right. TRS and Humbuster Cables aren't the same thing. If you can solder you could replace one TRS with a TS and join R to S on the amp end
  24. S

Silver Jubilee - Noise and hum

This may be too obvious....but you have made sure amps/cabs are turned off in whichever preset you're routing through your amp?

To Axe or not to Axe???

I'm still very new to the community and have only had my unit just over a month. I can tell you that I sold off a $3k pedalboard and several tube amps and have zero regrets. Anything and everything I could possibly want is now achievable and it far surpasses what I could have done with my...

    Taking a leap of faith

I hear you man. I'm certainly in the 'honeymoon phase' but I don't see it ending anytime soon and I can't see any reason to be buying amps again anytime soon either. I'm spreading the word and having as many people as possible try it out.

    Taking a leap of faith

So I have always been a 'tube' guy. I've dabbled with digital on and off and it's always taken minimal time to decide it's not for me. I've owned Fenders and Boogies mainly although I've played others too. Between various amp channels and the several $k I had laying on the floor in front of me...
