Here is my new track. The clean tones I used the USA Clean and drive tones the Friedman BE V2 The IR for both amps is @York Audio FDM 412 M25 PX my go to cab for everything lately. Dig A Little Deeper

The @York Audio Friedman pack is amazing. I purchased it after hearing a Phil X patch demo and is now my go to Cab, In fact I have just recorded my new single using @York Audio Friedman G12 & V30 mix.

Friedman BE-100 and FM3 - Axe-Fx III (emulate Phil X Demo)

I just purchased that pack and used the BE v2 with that cab and a P90 Les Paul and have not stopped playing for over an hour. I now have a new riff for my next track so Justin York a big thumbs up for some great sounding cabs :grimacing: (inspired)

Would like some recommendations for powered studio monitors and headphones to use with the III

For powered studio monitors i agree with others here the Yamaha HS-8's are great sounding. For headphones i am using AKG K712pro which sound fantastic.

New original track using 3 Amps

For this track I used the Brit 800 Mod, Friedman BE C45 and Carol-Ann TRIPTIK Modern. Guitars were 2 x Les Pauls (one with P90's) and a 1962 Strat.

You did hear a reference to Milwaukee in the first track. The vocalist is indeed American and is from Nashville that's why it's a mix of British/American.

2-part AxeFx/headphones question

I think it also all depends on what you want to spend, I just got a set of AKG 712 pro and wow they are amazing flat response headphones and great if you do any home recording and need to mix with headphones.

I know what you mean I'm using a matrix gt1000 into a Marshall 2x12 with vintage 30's and I have the shimmer drive before amp block and optical compressor 2 after the amp block and it's awesome on another level.

Taming the FW 7 harsh top end

I noticed the harsh top end too so I have started to adjust my presets but will try a reload as painkiller said. Edit: I just did a reset on the amp blocks and it's sounding killer with the defaults.

Marshall JVM OD2 Orange

Having a mess about with this amp model and thought it had Doug Adrich type of tone so I tried a play along with one of his Revolution Saints tracks and used the same amp patch for all parts and made the guitars louder to hear the amp and had to be quiet so used headphones (not ideal).

Original recording (no vocals) using Axe-Fx II I've had 2 weeks now into logic Pro x played on a Charvel San Dimas and using Tone Rangers Mark IV patch (slightly edited) he released (thanks)for rythmn and a Herbert for solo. It's not mastered just rough.

Advice appreciated!!

I put my Axe FX ultra direct into a MacBook without using any interface and garage band seems to work fine. I am just starting to learn Logic Pro which seems ok if you are used to Garage Band. For monitors just a set of M-Audio Av42 seem to be ok for now.
