Thanks for the reply stefankasprik. I wonder if the effects loop block would work through the built-in USB interface of the FM3. I'm looking for an easy way to route the guitar to the MBP to trigger the MG2. I used to do this sort of thing with my AXFX XL+and it worked but the MIDI-over-USB...

FM3 with Mesa Mark V 4CM and channel switching

I use SD 3. It's great but like GlennO said, EZDrummer2 is probably what you're looking for. I haven't used SSD myself. SD3 would probably be overkill for what you want but it's a great product.

Routing: both my Mac output AND guitar output to OUT1 and OUT2. How?

Duty / Shipping to Canada?

That’s right! We (BC) voted “No” But the point is there’s no duty so when you order from Fractal you get charged the tax that your province charges and then the shipping and that’s all you pay. No surprises which is nice. And the shipping is very fast. When I ordered my AX8 it arrived in 2 days.

Like David said the pedal you have only sends 0 or 127 as a command. It may be that you need to calibrate the pedal so it will be read correctly by the Axe FX. It may not be sending a full range 0-127 value so it wouldn’t be reading the two extremes and wouldn’t work in that case. There...

Prestige Musician Pro. I like the neck on this guitar. It's a little wider and a little flatter than 335's I've tried. I tried a lot of different 335's before finding this guitar and company right in my back yard.

TC Helicon acoustic with AX8 anyone using ?

I use the Voicelive 2 and the AX8. I just run into the AX8 normally and use its effect send to create the Harmony info. I used the Voicelive 2 once with my acoustic guitar and it sounded awful. The newer TC units may have better specs than mine though.

I went on the App Store for Canada and the update is $48.00. I think that’s more than I paid for the app originally. The good news is that FracPad is working totally fine with the 2018 iPad Pro and the Yamaha MD BT01.

The 2018 iPad has a lightning connector. The 2018 iPad Pro has a USB-C connector. I want to confirm with someone who's actually using the iPad Pro 2018 before I spend $ on the Yamaha UD-BT01.

It doesn’t work for me with the 2018 iPad Pro and the AX8. According to @chris it does work with the AXEIII. There is no “camera USB adaptor” for the new iPads as they are already USB C.

Just to update this Matt Picone replied that they don’t support MIDI on any iOS devices so I’m not expecting any help from them on this. Hopefully Apple will do something about this. If anyone else has a Nov 2018 iPad Pro with the Yamaha UD BT-01 it would be nice to know if it works. Thanks

I see that now. What I was doing is trying to find out exactly what did and didn’t work on the AX8 and the iPad Pro (Nov 2018). I know what the AX8 sends from it’s MIDI ports and from the USB bus. Sorry for the confusion. As Al said, “Time to move on”

I upadated the MD-BT01 to version 1.0.4 ,then I opened midimittr, then I pushed devices in the window and selected the MDBT01 and it said “Connected” I was able to record some PC changes in Cubasis with that. Just as a test

Does anyone JUST use an iPad for editing?

Just so you know, the MD-BT01 works from the midi ports of the AX8. I've tested it. Since the MIDI ports don’t send SYsEx messages it’s no good for FracPad. I just don't know for sure if the UD-BT01 will work if it's transmitting the USB MIDI from the AX8 because I'm thinking it's the same...

Then your iPad doesn’t have a USB C port. Yours has a Lightening connector.
