FM3 Firmware Version 8.00 beta 1

With everything turned on for gapless (and sounding amazing I might add) my presets have also dropped around 5% in cpu usage. This is on MK1 FM3. This is witchcraft!!!

Don't run CPU past 76%...

Anyone have a copy of the FM3 "MK I" / Pre-Turbo Manual? Curious about something.

This is from manual v1 for firmware v1.x Can’t see anything about it not being designed for the 4CM and I run mine like that with a Revv G20 every day.

I use my FM3 with my G20 using 4CM, when I first set it up the noise was horrendous, I changed the cabling to humbuster (TRS -TS) and the noise completely stopped. I was surprised but it really did make a huge difference for me.

I had a problem twice on the last firmware, only on the middle screen and it looked like the bottom half of the inverted text from a long press didn’t clear when the switch was released. I’ll test the new beta over the weekend.

Unfortunately I was not plugged in to my laptop and hadn’t actually done anything so stupidly didn’t back up, just didn’t occur to me that a ‘factory reset’ on the layouts would just wipe them all. Hopefully someone will have the file they can upload.

Unfortunately after playing with the footswitch layouts I did a RESET ALL on FW. 3.02 beta 1 and now all my layouts are empty. I've tried reseting on the unit and with FM3 Edit, and i've tried doing it with FW 1.04, 2.00, 3.01 and 3.02, and they are still all empty. I wondered if someone could...

From computer through USB it will work, to use your phone you will need to plug in to input 2 and create a preset with input 2 going to the output mixer.

Very hard time trying to decide between Axe Fx 2 and Ax8.

I would go for the 'pre-loved' Axe FX 2 the support from fractal is second to none so I wouldn't have any issues getting a second hand one from a shop.

I use the PC RESET on all my wah blocks it guarantees that the wah does engage when changing patches if the pedal has been knocked from its 'off' position.

Wah engaged automatically on presets without even being plugged in [NOT A BUG]

If you like just make a copy of the presets you like and replace the wah with a shunt, then you have best of both worlds. Like Chris says a lot of people just use those a a starting point or just a demonstration of some of the things the Axe can do. The real fun is making your own ;)

Audio dropout when switching scenes

As with anything good there are many ways to achieve the same result, some better than others, but what's great is we have the ability to try them all. Another thing that is worth checking is 'spillover' , I find makes a huge difference in seemless changes on some patches.

Wish Display song name instead of preset name in song mode

Same here, my presets have the same name as the song, I add a C or S at the end for Chorus or Solo etc. To me it makes more sense as many of my songs use more than one preset, and I like to be able to glance down to check I'm on the right preset ;) This is probably why I'm not using scenes, now...

As far as paper, i've just bought what ever was on offer, I alway do a test first to check the ink is staying on it before I buy a big pack, no particular brand though. The holes I cut with a 'Leather Hole Punch' 12mm for the led, and 16mm for the switch...

Had a great night tonight at the Cavern Club in Liverpool, the Axe Fx and MFC worked flawlessly. It's was great to have complete confidence in my gear as it was the first time I had played publicly for over 5 years, and 10 years since I had done anything like that.
