I had a issue where I couldn’t see presets I saved in the beta version, once I rolled back. They will come back when you upgrade next time.

@yek The patch was still there, I had to reload 3.02 to see it. However, this is the problem. You can see in the video I am switching patches with the value knob on the axe and it changes the FC6 information when I go back.

It was created in 3.01. Less worried about losing the patch. I was more concerned about the fact that the FC6 settings were getting messed up changing patches with the value knob.

Just an Fyi, I rolled back to 3.01 and it deleted my patch that I was having the FC settings problem.......guess I have to start over with that one......always back up your stuff.

I didn't get to try it in FRFR through my FRFR system....the posts started flying about the bug so I rolled back to 1.15. The effect on a speaker cab was only noticeable at higher volumes.....which makes sense. If the question was how did it sound set to FRFR through a cab....same as before...

The original post is about matching levels between the axe and matrix. Axe III has an output setting (+4db and -10db). The Axe III comes set at -10db. If you just hook the two up and don't change that setting the matrix is getting a much lower signal.

I just talked to Andrew at Matrix. 0 dbu is the optimal input level. -10dbv is too quiet and 4dbu can be too hot and you could damage the speakers.

I actually called Matrix a few years ago and they told me the system sounded better when the volume was cranked passed 2 o'clock. They don't tell people because if the power up or down sequence is in the wrong order you could damaged the speakers.

No more real cabs for me

I have had a much better experience using real cabs with the Axe III. I'm not sure what changed to make the character of the amp model come through so much better when using guitar cabs.

Will do. I have done this with my Mesa rectifier and a bassman. The rectifier made subtle changes but makes the amp cut through the the mix better. The bassman made it much more correct to my ears.Plus now I can use cab IRs into a frfr speaker or disable the cab simulation and use an actual...

I just did some tone matches of the output of some of my tube heads using the unaffected signal from a Palmer speaker simulator. Pretty darn good results. This means I taken any mics or speakers out of the tone matching signal chain and just match the raw output from the head itself. Has anyone...

I just installed FW 20 on my XL. In previous versions I noticed that the SAG parameter was cutting the volume down to 1/3 when using with a Matrix and a 412 cabinet. (I started shutting it off). That seems to have corrected itself with FW 20. Was I doing something wrong? The amp tones are...
