I'm honestly not one to comment with every firmware update and claiming it's the most amp(tube) like firmware thus far, and that's not to take anything from the ones who hear the differences, whether it's significant or not. I've felt subtle differences randomly over the past 8 or 9ish updates...

I've encountered the same issue a couple times before. What I do now is unplug my Axe Fx from the MFC before upgrading firmware and it has never been an issue since.

I didn't realize there would be so much adjustment needed on my CCV 2B patch after this update. haha Had to increase my gain from 1.32 to 5.45 to get in the general range (low-mid gain) I prefer. Still playing and adjusting as I feel necessary. Sounds great so far.

Agreed. The only thing I lust after is guitars. The Axe covers everything amp related. I wouldn't mind trying another cab sometime, but I'm in no rush. The Port City is pretty amazing.

I'm waiting for a sound clip to be posted. I have a hard time believing it has disappointed you this much. The Axe doesn't require endless tweaking, although you can go as far as your ears/mind feel necessary. I would absolutely do a factory reset. The majority of amps/presets at their core...

Totally. On Equipboard he's listed as using (currently) a Bad Cat Lynx 50. And from the video posted above, he previously used the Hot Cat combo. I'd love a model of both channels of the Lynx.

If you have an FRFR cab, then you want the CAB simulation on. If you have a traditional guitar cabinet (Mesa, Orange, Peavey, Friedman, etc), you want CAB simulation off.

I posted in 5.01 about hearing/feeling more grind/pick attack in my palm mutes through the CCV 2B. I was playing with my EQ before upgrading. Not sure if it's placebo or if it affected the Camerons as well. Of course it sounds great. :)

INCORRECT / WRONG SETTINGS - Multi-Band Compressor .... tighten bottom-end

Try small cuts at 250 and 500 in the graphic EQ (AMP block). I like to use the 8-band. Always seems to tighten up my sound nicely in the bottom end.

It's bad in the sense our updates are coming to a halt, but let's appreciate what we have. More definition is something I've always wanted out of Rectos. I'll be giving it a go in about an hour. Still can't seem to let go of the Cameron CCV. May be my personal favorite.

That's pretty much exactly what I stated. I know it's not an absolute system. Based on the update and format patterns, it seems the next modeling firmware should be Q5. It's likely that I'm wrong. Depends on exactly what improvements have been made.

I can agree with that, 18 til death. I don't mean that to be taken negatively towards our Mk I and Mk II units. :) Obsolete in the sense that our ability to upgrade firmware is coming to a halt. Just because we lose firmware support doesn't render them useless.

The Dear Hunter - Act IV distorted tone

I saw them last week and had a VIP ticket. Got to look close and the guitarists were using Mesa TA-30s. As MAYissues said, I'd focus on the amps listed on equipboard. The live tone was GREAT and their performance was magical.

The only problem I had and you may not experience it; but after upgrading to 4.01b the modeling version in the "AMP" block was changed from LATEST to Q3.xx on my personal presets. The remaining factory presets (that I scrolled through) stayed on LATEST. I don't think it's a bug, but you may...

Of course you can. While on the said preset, press "Store", scroll to the preset # you want to overwrite and confirm by pressing enter. Very easy.

I'm not usually a big Recto fan, but I dialed in a pretty nice tone on Recto 2 Vintage that I'm liking. Don't think I'll stick with it, but we'll see. haha Still hooked on the Cameron CCV models.

I don't know why I'm lost on this as long as I've been here but I thought small revisions are made in "Q4.0x" increments and the final release goes up to "Q5.0" Probably one of most noob questions I can ask right now but then again, I am a "rookie" lol

It would be nice if we could stop speculating and let Cliff decide on his own. Looks like he has plenty to go by. Not trying to be disrespectful, but damn this looks ungrateful. lol Let's get back to appreciating the improvements.

lol This thread has blown up! Threaten our units life expectancy and everyone goes wild. Hilarious, but some cool stuff has been mentioned to remedy the situation. Whether it's implemented or not.

I agree. The Legato 100 surprised me. I love it. Don't use rectos very much but I'm going to give them another run through.

I'm probably like +100 by now for voting to keep the latest modeling version and scrap the rest. I never used it to be honest. I'm all for prolonging the frequency/quantity of updates. Cliff is probably pulling his hair out by now...jk

I agree completely. If everything came to a screeching halt after the upcoming firmware is released, I would be incredibly happy with what we have been given. Always a select few who still feel entitled regardless of a hardware limitation. We have been spoiled constantly with updates.

I owned a Digitech 2120 for 8 years and obviously we never got that kind of treatment. I could dial in some excellent tones. The help and support, customer involvement, and constant updates from FAS is amazing and sets them apart from the rest. Makes me very happy to be a part of the FAS family.

I may be the only one who experienced it, but I wanted to add that after upgrading to 4.01 beta, the amp modeling version was changed from LATEST to Q3.xx on my personal presets. The remaining factory presets (that I scrolled through) stayed on LATEST.
