can an axe fx ii into a mackie hd 1221 pull off a local gig by itself?

Got a show coming up in a small house like show. Wondering if itll sound fine if I just go this route. I know it can go loud enough. Should I have the axe fx on high volume and have the speaker lower or visa versa for control of tone? Thanks!

should I sell my mackie hd 1221?

I kind want to get a power amp and a passive cab versus going into p.a systems at bars and local venues considering the quality wont be in my control it sill be in the sound guys control so I wouldent trust that unless I was in a big touring band and had a tech. So im just going to probably...

Its a pre amp...I know is a Noob question but isn't it the same as a power amp? Can I use it to play through a passive speaker?

On stage monitors. Like local bars Nd stuff. Wont the crappy monitors effect things?
