I just bought both a GT1000FX (2U - used) and a CFR-12 (new for g66.eu). I will let you know how the CFR-12 sounds as soon as I have enough experience to share.

Buttery Crunch (no V10 beta inside :-)

Here is a humble clip of an old school crunch tone based on V9.02's preset #40 (Buttery). Used a MJT Tele with Lollar pups for both the rhythm and the lead tracks. The lead playing sucks but hope you enjoy the tone.

Please Henry, reread the OP. As I wrote, Jeff Loomis definitively deserves our respect for his playing skills. No problem. My concern was/is: what kind of feeling does this performance generate? In my case, it doesn't generate any "deep artistic emotion". I'm totally impressed and (stupidly?)...

The Dunlop GCB80 seems to be a good Mission Engineering EP-1 alternative. Here in EU, its price is approx half the one of a Mission. Do any of you already use the GCB80 and have some feedback to share? Thanks!

Getting stuck in skill level ... what to do?

Zwiebelchen, I know what you're talking about and I'm certainly not the only one on this forum. Why not taking a break and stop playing for a while? Being in a negative thinking pattern does help to progress. This worked for me. It had always been a real pleasure to get back to guitar playing...

BTW, were all the guitar tracks recorded with the Axe? The "he leads me now" 's rhythm track really sounds "plain, full, rich" (don't how to qualify it in English) - like a real amp.

AXE FX II-----JIMI HENDRIX influenced TONE!

Well, I tried to do the same but didn't obtain the same result. Might be due to my Strat - an American Deluxe with SCN pickups (i.e. not really warm sounding pickups). By itself, the guitar is a dream to play but it deserves a better set of pups.

I've noticed that many of the Axe users are "hi-gain guys". Googling the internet, I also have the impression that the Axe is known to have nice hi-gain capabilities. Please confirm, that modern guitar sounds is not a priority for FAS and that they also work hard on clean and crunchy stuffs. It...
