    I think it can be tricky to find an IR that suits the tone you're looking for + that work well with the equipment you have. I had to do some forum research to find really great combos, because I don't know anything about cabs or mics. Easier with Cygnus but can still be tricky.

    I've pulled a older clip of a crispy boog sound made from a bunch of random fx blocks (I'm pretty sure there's a flanger and the octave drive): I'm just recording and tweaking everything while I jam so, yeah sometimes the mix is not great. I'm not a pro though.

    I run my eurorack, OP-1, pocket operators and a couple synths through the Axe FX, it works really well and sounds great! Here's an example before I built my modular synth (synth -> axefx -> monitors -> phone mic): I'll try to find a better example!

    I agree that it could be something with the controllers that don't get copied over. I would actually try to delete everything (or even just the wah), but keep the amp and cab, then do the copy and see if you still get the same problem.

    I jumped from the Ultra to the AxeFx III. Definitely noticed a jump in sound quality and feel. Any sort of digital muddiness I was experiencing is now replaced by this sick purr. The Ultra is still an incredible unit though, especially paired with custom IRs.
