Just Bought an Ultra a Week Ago....

Ok this isn't liek CRAZZZY deal, but a couple years ago I bought a Mesa/boogie Simulclass 295 poweramp from ebay for $350. The most interesting thing about it, is how mint of condition it was in. I mean, it's like a singularity opened up at a music store back in 1986, sucked in the Mesa...

Just got my ax, my first impression...

After buying this thing, the urges to look on ebay for random rack mount poweramps,preamps, effects processors, etc has basically gone away. Oh, thankyou Fractal! lol My biggest gripe right now with the AxFx though, is it doesn't have an AM/FM radio built into it. That's some bullshit.

FCB1010 broken???

Update: I have been in contact with the seller and they have agreed to give me a full refund. Also, I have ordered a brand new FCB. $142.99 shipped, and I will have an actual warrenty. I could get it cheaper some other way, sure, but I just want a damn pedal that works. Thanks for all the help...

FCB1010 broken???

I honestly could not answer whether it worked before or not, but I do know that I swapped out the Uno chip back to the factory chip, and have the same problem, that's the bad news. The worse news is that while fooling around with the inside, I broke the wire leads going to the faulty expression...

By all accounts it is. On the ripwerx the exb B and exp A boxes are checked. And on the layout of everything it has it's own number and everything that is checked on the working pedal (ExpA) is checked on ExpB, but with different values of course. You know on the FCB1010 when you hit a button or...

Yes. thats it. So as it stands, the lead going to the non working pedal has the capability to light up the red light, but not control anything. As I said before, I had just replaced the factory eprom to an Uno eprom. Not sure if that has anything to do with it or not. I might swap them out just...

FCB1010 broken???

I meant that I unplugged both leads, going to both optical interfaces(?), and the optical interface that I know works did NOT work with the second(suspect) set of pedal lead wires. Both appear to be the same sort of connection, 3 pin. Now, I cannot plug the working lead wire set into the far...

I see what you're talking about witht eh plastic strips but have deduced that that is not the problem since I plugged the 2nd pedal(the non working one) wire into the 1st pedal slot and still nothing from those wires. I dunno....

FCB1010 broken???

So I have been trying to figure out all of this MIDI/FCB1010/AxFx mess today. Trying to see how the pedal works. I notice that every single thing on the FCB sends a signal to the axfx/midisport 2x2, EXCEPT, the 2nd expression pedal(the pedal all the way at the end). There IS the red light on...

Just wanted to say that it's very hard to study chem and physics for more than 5 minutes and extremely easy to sit in front of the axfx for 5 hours tooling around with sounds.

Behringer FCB1010 / UNO questions

I have a question for voes or shasha or anyone else who is on top of the FCB1010/axfx subject, there IS a 7 pin midi IN on the back of the axfx ultra as well a "phantom power to pins 6 and 7" plug. Is there any way to use these as an alternative to the traditional fcb1010-->axfx phantom power...

I actually purchased a m audio midisport 2x2 anniversary(saw a recommendation from shasha) and have gotten it to work(I think)...I can control the axfx from my laptop with the midimate, but when I flip programs on the axfx, it is out of sync with the axedit. Basically, the axedit dictates...

dutch, Thanks for all the good advice. I am still waiting on the FCB and I'm pretty sure that I should probably order the uno chip, from everything that I've read obviously including your post, it's well worth it. Yeah the MFC looks pretty cool, but too extreme and WAY too expensive for me...

I JUST got my first bass guitar today, it's a Dean Edge 5. Pretty nice for the money, I'd say. Anyway I already bought a peavy TNT 1x15 combo but I will definitely give the ax a shot. I would have to figure how to run the ax through the cab and disconnect the amp/preamp I guess(?). I say that...

Jeez you guys are brutal. You all read too much into it, or I worded it the wrong way, or both. No need to defend the ax, as I am very happy with it and the positives FAR outweigh the negligible differences, imo. Yes I realize that on the ax you can get much further in depth on sculpting...

Ok well maybe "overpriced" might of been a bit strong of a word. Generously priced? LoL Maybe if you consider how there are fx untis out there does do just about as much, but at 1/2, 1/4, etc the price. But then again, "those" units that I'm talking about probably do not sound quite as good...

I am going to have to agree almost 100% with the OP about the MFC. Unless you're a touring professional musician, that MFC controller, which I'm suuuuuure is a nice piece of equipment, but is WAYY overkill, and the damn thing doesn't even have an expression pedal for crissakes! I just wish that...

Ok, I'm confused...

Why is are the standards and ultra ax fx's going for more USED on ebay than BRAND NEW from the fractal site? Seriously. A standard is 1499.99, new, and average prices on ebay for used standards are 1500.00-1700.00....am I missing something here?? Someone please fill me in. Thanks Matt

Power amp question

Hey everyone. my heart is pretty set on getting an axfx ultra. I was wondering since this thing is a fairly high end amp modeler, does that power source that I'm using really matter that much, tubes or solid state power amp? If this is a dumb question, then have mercy on me. :-P

Good foot controller w/ expression pedal

Hey all, Im new to the forum and am thinking about buying an ax fx to replace my gsp 1101. I love the control 2 for the gsp, I was wondering if there are any decent pedals like the control 2 for the ax fx that would give me no problems switching between presets and one that has a good expression...
