Playback automate your Wah BUT keep foot control

Small update. From watching another video about using a MIDI expression pedal in Reaper, I used "ReaControlMidi" to establish that my pedal (when connected to my keyboard) is operating on CC #64, it is named a "Hold Pedal" and acts as an on/off switch. In the Axe, when I set "External Control...

Question about Mono vs Stereo delays

Just wondering why I hear no difference between the mono and stereo versions of the "digital" and "analog" delay types, whereas I do with the "tape" delay type. This is using a simple input>amp>cab>delay>output preset (everything at default settings) just to test the effect of the delay block...

    Muffled Tones

Kyloc I play through studio monitors, but can relate to what you describe. Straight out of the box, presets (stock or otherwise) did not sound like the great recorded tones you hear from others. For me, the setting of the global EQ was the difference that brought everything to life. My settings...

Wish Link default Amp AC Line Frequency to global setting

No worries. The "parameter" I referred to is the AC Line Frequency setting within the amp sim. I understand that this is different to the global setting. It's simply that I prefer the 50Hz setting (within the amp sim) and would like the ease of having it linked with the global setting.
  30. C

Wish Link default Amp AC Line Frequency to global setting

@unix-guy, I hear what you're saying. As said above, my ears prefer the 50Hz setting and surely the point of the parameter is to simulate the effect of the actual AC line frequency going into the amp sim.
  31. C

Wish Link default Amp AC Line Frequency to global setting

@Rex, yes my ears prefer the 50 Hz setting.
  32. C

Wish Link default Amp AC Line Frequency to global setting

In Europe, we are meant to set our global AC Line Frequency to 50Hz. However, all of the amp sims default to 60Hz, which means you have to page back and forward to correct the setting when auditioning amps. It would be really useful to have the default setting for all amps to match the global...

Connecting the AXE and a Keyboard to the same monitors

Guys My normal set-up is very basic; the L/R outputs from my AXE II connected directly to studio monitors (Adam F7). I’m considering buying a keyboard with an on-board sequencer to record ideas (i.e. drums, bass, synth). I’d like to maintain the ability to play either instrument on...

Teh Brootalz tone affected by adjacent preset (fw15.02)

First noticed this in 15 beta (was also there in 15.01). I created a simple amp/cab patch using the Brootalz and was dialling it in, then saved it. Without changing anything, I noticed a huge difference in sound when scrolling onto my preset from below and when scrolling onto it from above...

  55. C

Does this sound right to you..?

Hey Zack, it's more obvious on tremolo guitars than fixed bridge for me - irrespective of the pickups (this is why I think it's guitar related). For example, the issue is least noticeable using my PRS SE245 (with standard SE245 pickups) and by contrast my Warmoth soloist (swamp ash body, maple...

Does this sound right to you..?

Guys, don't get me wrong here, I'm not saying it's the Axe - in fact I think it's guitar related (if it was the Axe, the 'noise' would be the same for every guitar that I plugged in, and it's not). If there is a particular guitar that I'm using with a particular amp sim and the 'noise' is there...
  59. C

Does this sound right to you..?

Sorry but I have to disagree. Fret buzz may well be a contributing factor but it's not the only one, at least not in my case. I can gently hit the open 'A' string with zero fret buzz on the Brit 800 preset and still get the noise Gary
  60. C

Does this sound right to you..?

Zack, I experience the exact same thing as you, also on all guitars to a greater or lesser degree. I don't have an answer, but I do know that knocking off the Bright switch helps a lot. A dare like to bet the bright switch was on in your Brit 800 clip Gary

    Cab block hi-res vs. lo-res

Following javajunkie's advice earlier in this thread, I took a preset with 2 x mono hi-res cabs, switched both cabs to mono lo-res (changed nothing else) and resaved the preset. A/B'ing between the 2, I hear no difference between the hi-res and lo-res patches. Previously (as already stated)...

    Cab block hi-res vs. lo-res

ok java, take the point about Scott's post being a comparison to the ultra (sorry Scott) and thanks for the technical explanation regarding resolution (v. helpful). That said, the OP asks if anyone can hear a difference between lo-res stereo versus hi-res split cabs in the II (all other...

    Cab block hi-res vs. lo-res

Another thought guys (maybe Cliff could chime in?), if hi-res makes absolutely no difference to lo-res, then why develop it?
  73. C

    Cab block hi-res vs. lo-res

Guys, no beef here, but I stand by original statement. javajunkie, there is a definite difference between a stereo cab and 2 x mono hi-res cabs. I've tried this on several patches with the same results - the mono hi-res set up is clearer, more full and more defined (even with the level of the...

    Cab block hi-res vs. lo-res

Will give it a try and get back to you.
  75. C

    Cab block hi-res vs. lo-res

I'd vote for "clearly audible." There is a definite difference (at least on my set-up) between 2 separate hi-res cab blocks and 1 lo-res stereo block (same cabs). I typically play mid-gain stuff and palm mutes etc. are tighter and cleaner with the hi-res cab blocks - everything else the same.

Axe II output levels (when directly into studio monitors)

I have the same set-up (XLR out direct into studio monitors) and agree that it hardly registers anything on the volume knob before you're at loudish levels for bedroom use.
