    FM3 Firmware Version 6.02 beta 1

I recall running into some issues a year or so ago. Turned out, in my case, my problems occurred when I was plugged into a USB3 (blue tongue) port on the computer. When I switched over to a USB2 (black tongue) port its been fine. Windows 10. Maybe you ran into a similar anomaly?

Still no Tempo "persistently" displayed ....

Thanks for the suggestion but I'm not gonna occupy an on board switch for tempo just so I can see a tempo in the scribble strip. The onboard switches, and corresponding scribble strip labeling is much more useful for functions that actually need labels. My tap tempo button is a stand in switch -...

Still no Tempo "persistently" displayed ....

    K. There seems to be some traction in updating the display (the large font version) but still no upgrades to "persistently" display the current tempo on the screen. There seems to be "room" in the upper left, between the FM3 text and the mini tuner to display the current tempo. Is it really...

Poll: How many people use screen protectors?

I used IQ Shield cell phone screen protector. Just make sure you get one large enough to cover the main screen in one piece. If I recall, I used the Samsung S9+ size. For less than $10 the package came with two protector film sheets. I just cut them to have pieces for the main screen and the...

Is 'Setlist' feature only functional if you have a Fractal FC?

I have not had a chance to peruse the 6b2 firmware and won't until Friday but I was looking forward to the setlist feature. After doing some research and reading the mini manual, it's not clear, but it certainly looks like setlist functionality requires a Fractal FC? Is this the case?

Been a Fractal user since 2008 (Ultra days) and have had the flagship product until a few years ago when I decided I didn't want to lug a rack case & separate foot controller any more. Setting Up External Tap Tempo?

@jholt . Did you ever get the Disaster Area Micro.clock (DAMC) to work as a 'standard tap tempo switch'? I just bought a Micro.clock and got it successfully acting as 'my foot' - tapping in tempo as a standard tempo switch. When I first got my FM3, I set up a 'moskey style' momentary...

Tempo Tap minimum dwell time to register a tap? ( on a stand in switch)

Maybe this is something for someone @FractalAudio. I have developed a circuit to 'convert' a click from a metronome to a tap tempo switch using some NPN transistors and a couple MOSFET's. I was trying to develop this so that I could 'intercept' the tap tempo foot switch I have set up as a...

    Second expression for volume

The MC6 can only send MIDI information. I don't believe layouts are MIDI assignable at this point in time. That's why I still use a two button switch set up as a 'stand-in' switches on my FM3 pedal 1 jack to access other layouts. User @hole got a lot more creative with his MC6 and posted some...

No. The position of the pedal needs to be 'translated' into MIDI values. A normal TRS expression pedal doesn't do that. A MIDI expression pedal has this 'conversion' built into the device.

@brianv4 You're welcome. That's exactly what I did. Used the cable I used from the AxeII/MFC days .... keep in mind that power over 7 pin MIDI was generally assumed to be AC so the polarity of the the FASLink tap-in should be irrelevant. Hope all works out for you.

Just a heads up on the MIDI pinouts. MIDI is a current loop and requires two wires for the data, hence data+(pin 4) and data- (pin 5). You really only need pin 4 and pin 5 for the MIDI communication. In my pics I show pins 1 and 3 soldered because I used to use this cable on my AxeFX II and...
