Axe-Fx III Firmware 31.03 Release

Fixed Amp block first stage bias point can get corrupted and produce unwanted distortion.
I took the common sense decision to avoid installing 31.02, as much of Christmas has been spent chasing down a weird fuzzy double-tone artefact on the low strings of a 1963 Strat. Last thing I needed was random distortion that may or may not have been from the Axe FX.

So all I can say is YESSS! Thank you Cliff, good to know that's fixed and I can update.

I'm confused. I loaded the current factory preset banks a few days ago, just to try them out. Afterwards, my bank D was still intact with my personal preset choices. I spend most of my time there, and there didn't appear to be any problems.

A few minutes ago, I updated to 31.03. When I restarted, the factory presets (through 383) were still there, but my bank D was blank. It's no problem since I have everything backed up. I'm just not sure how it happened. Maybe user error...?

Did you only look in the editor or the front panel, too?

If only the editor then confirm on the unit itself.

If they are there then RANF...

Thanks for the reply. The bank was equally missing when viewed from the editor or from the front panel. Can't do any more diagnostics now, since I've already restored the bank from a backup. Sorry.

More pitch block updates? Automatic hell yes. IMO it's the single most powerful effect in the box because it effectively deletes the physical limitations of your guitar.
  • Need a different tuning? Virtual Capo.
  • Need 24 frets on a 22 fret neck? Virtual Capo
  • Emulate double tracking? Dual detune

I see a repeated theme of insisting that Cliff take a break. I don't get it - he's said that tweaking code is his happy place. So, I'm going to say to Cliff, code your ass off. Code so hard your butt puckers a little. Happy New Year guitar slingers.
He was ill and had surgery recently.
