Sysex checksum for entire preset

The formula to calculate the checksum for each Sysex message is documented and easy enough. But how is the checksum for an entire preset calculated? It's a 16-bit word (in 3 MIDI bytes) at the final Sysex message at the end of each preset. It's obviously not the same as the message Sysex, since...

AX8 PC Bank Select

NM. I see there's a MIDI setting in each preset which chooses the MIDI PC. Not sure if that's for send AND receive or just send, but I'll figure it out. Annoying that every one is defaulted to PC 0 instead of the actual Bank/Preset #, but oh well...

Using MIDI monitor, looking at the output of the "Master" AX8, no matter what Bank/Preset I choose, it always puts out PC 1. Is there a MIDI PC mapping page or something?

I am trying to get 2 AX8 to follow each other's preset changes. i.e. When I select Bank 02, Preset 3 on the "Master" AX8, I want Bank 2, Preset 3 on the "Slave" AX8. When connecting the master's MIDI out to the slave's MIDI in, no matter what preset I choose on the Master, the Slave AX8 switches...

Ok, so there is an "OFF" setting. This should work well! This is why I love this forum. Such great and quick help, especially when the manuals are incomplete.

In the manual it doesn't actually say it can be NONE or OFF, but I'll check on the MFC when I get a chance. If it can be NONE or OFF, then that may be the fix. Thank you.

Thank you for that information. Surprising that the Axe-FX does not send PC messages on its own... I have a MIDI switcher device downstream that responds to fixed MIDI commands, and the CC messages are not needed, and actually change the device's state. (it responds to both PC and CC messages)...

I have an Axe-FX II with a MFC-101 connected to it via CAT-5. I have MIDI Thru enabled on the Axe-FX II as I need to access the PC messages from the MFC-101. Turns out that when I change presets on the MFC-101, not only do I see the PC message out the MIDI port, but also a bunch of CC messages...

The AX8 manual shows that the AX8 will accept Bank Select/PC messages, but it looks like it doesn't transmit Bank Select, only PC messages. Has anyone tested this? Is it true?

Doh! I'm so used to the MFC having to be programmed on the pedalboard itself, it never occured to me that the footswitch functions might be in AX8-Edit. Thanks! (Still seems like the manual is wrong...)
