Replacing my FRFR

I'm looking to replace my Yamaha DXR12 and I was wondering what everyone is using and really likes. I've seen systems by Fender, EVH, Line 6, Friedman, Blackstar, etc. and of course they all say "we're the best". Makes it very confusing! I know FAS recommends Red Sound but I'm apprehensive about purchasing a product from Italy and needing service down the road. Love to see what you like, and also what doesn't make the grade, either sound-wise or has poor reliability. THANKS!!

Something else - the Yamaha has a 12" woofer and a 1.75" compression driver for the highs. Wondering how much of a difference an FRFR system with just a 1x10 or 1x12 speaker makes as opposed to a coaxial setup.

Not sure if this is something you are open to but Studio Monitors have changed the game for me. I mostly play sitting down in front of my computer. With Studio monitors ear placement is key so if you play in the same position all the time I would highly recommend them. Plus you get the added benefit of Stereo effects and very accurate representation of the Fractal's modeling output. I went from Yamaha HS7 to Adam Audio A7V's and I have not looked back. I placed my monitors further away from me recently they are about 5ft away, and the stereo image sounds even better to my ears. I can get that amp in the room sound or a very clean recording like representation depending on how I dial my preset.

I used to have a Line6 FRFR Cab that was really cool as it also modeled different speakers. But I still found because it sat on the floor in my office it had a boomines I could not dial out. Even when I tried to lift it off the floor or tilt it, it resulted in more highs that were shrill to my ears. With the monitors I can play as loud or quiet as I want and can compensate quite quickly for volume with minimal tweaks.

Just thought I would give you a different perspective.

Enjoying my pair of Fender FR-10s, although I also have a pair of Atomic CLRs that I leave at church for that gig. As good as the CLRs are, however, I would never recommend them because of the lack of service support that company now exhibits,
I've heard the same thing about their service...or lack thereof.

Appreciate this! Unfortunately the only place I have room for anything is on the floor. Once I retire and don't have my work computer/monitors cluttering up the place, that'll change!!

I have a Laney LFR-112 and that thing is a beast. It sounds great, moves the air nicely, and feels very much like an amp should. I'd love to have another for stereo, but currently I can move all my gear in a single trip on my roller cart. So unless the second cab comes with a magic genie roadie, I'm going to stick with a mono backline.

Archangel Fender FR10's for me...also the EV PXM 12.
Love this. I have a pair of Archangel FR-12s and a pair of EV-PXMs. Both are excellent. I like the FR-12 better personally, and that was the case even before installing the Archangel preamps. After Fender implemented their version of the fix @Lysander pioneered (Lysander’s was still better), they have a real winner. The Archangel takes it to the next level.
