ICONS Future

I watched an old video recently of someone dialing the Metallica tone in the USA IIC++ model in Axe-Fx II. I was so surprised and impressed that I've been wanting to try it for a while now but I'll never afford the hardware. I hope they continue updating the plugin and I'll give that model a trial run when the Boogie pack comes.

Nowadays, almost all software is pirated. It's a real shame, but I think that despite everything, it still generates profits for the owners.
Of course it does. You just expect some percentage of lost revenue in your planning and go ahead.

And people who use pirated software aren’t even always lost revenue because they wouldn’t buy the product anyway for a million reasons, from religious (“paying for software is silly” kind of stuff) to the mere fact that in many countries even a hundred bucks is a ton of money and they just can’t afford it.

Some people use pirated versions as some kind of extended trial, too.

There are of course also those who can afford to pay and just prefer free riding, but that’s not 100%.

In Fractal’s case, of course they also need to consider potential cannibalization of hardware sales, so it’s more complicated. They may lose some, but also gain some by offering their stuff to people who don’t want hardware.

Anyways, just hope they’ll overcome this reluctance one day. I’d really love to have a plugin version as a backup/super portable rig.

Huh. Yet they can afford the device said software needs? Or did they jack that too?
And I'd be careful not to equate 'poor' as more likely to steal.

I predict since this the chance of a full featured AXFX plug in decreased by 70%
Cliff already said he really did not want to do it for the reasons stated and pretty much the internet proved him right

I think Icons will continue but it will be select amps and limited effects as the first release

Well it was directly stated that ICONS is not a software version of Axe-Fx so it gives me hope that it will continue.

Cracked software is exhausting. Obviously Fractal knew it’d get cracked at some point but many people are still willing to pay for it.

You don’t need an official statement that Icons will live on. That’s just silly. Fractal doesn’t leave their customers high and dry.

I just never had a Fractal product, I had no reasons to come here and then this plugin came and I decided to create the account. It doesn't mean I'm some guy you know.
